Happy angler with this Tasmanian (or Striped Trumpeter) captured during March 2008. A number of these fish have been taken along the edge of the Continental Shelf. Mick Bennett with a Blueye Trevalla. These fish inhabit deep water around 400 metres. A few of these fish have recently been captured on drop lines when the weather conditions have been favourable for this type of fishing. A Tiger Flathead (called King Flathead locally) captured on a handline around the edged close to the Continental Shelf. Some big specimens are taken out in these deeper waters but they generally inhabit shallower waters during Summer months. |
